'Lucie Mad' and 'Lulu' are two works from the archive of female roles.
In this project I put on my workshop the popular plays to analyze, re-build and re-act the female characters.

Using 'Lucie Mad' play by Don Nigro, about madness as (only possible) form of expression for a weak woman in a strict society, and texts from female Polish artists from twenties till now, I compose the original play. My intention was to recapture the words such as: weakness, sentimentality, exaltation, exaggeration as a full valuable in description of woman art practice.
Being a woman-artist may be the chance to escape social conventions and find one's own way of expression, but usually it turns out to be another role, with well defined iconography in mass imagination.
The scene for my 'Lucie Mad' was the Center for Polish Sculpture park, uniquely sensual space, where the presence of female artists is only softly marked, even if the dreams about The Woman are marked very strong in men's works (exemplary titles of the sculptures in the park: 'Eve', 'Woman', 'Woman VI', ' Temptation of Adam', 'Ophelia').
