Polonaise for the Collection of Art of the 20th and 21st Century
performers: Andrea Adam, Łukasz Ostrowski, Magdalena Przybysz, Dorota Przygucka, Martyna Turcza, Aleksandra Yach.

'Performance deconstructs the behavior of museum audiences by means of its choreography. The gestures we make when looking at artworks and the postures we take making contact with them are put in rhythm and combined into a complex dance routine. The performance, executed by six dancers in several exposition rooms during a public opening, becomes a work of art which interprets the viewers and their relations with the works exhibited in the gallery.' (Jarosław Lubiak - curator of the project.)
The project was realised in Museum sztuki, Lodz, in the frame of the exhibition ' Museum jako swietlany przedmiot pozadania'.
I decided to continue the way of thinking about 'visiting museum' situation as a somnolent dance, ritual, danger for the awareness and real attention in contact with the art pieces. I also wanted to refer to diagnosis of Polish society made by Wyspiański or Wajda, making the picture of dormant people moving slowly in traditional dance - polonaise.
The documentation - movie by Marcin Latałło was shown during the 'Points d'Impact' performance festival (Geneve 2007).
